The Advanced ECE Lab at Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi supports experimental research and hands-on learning in contemporary wireless and electronic communication systems. The laboratory hosts a 5G testbed based on a standalone architecture comprising the 5G core network, radio unit, IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS), Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) server, and a centralized network management system. In addition, the lab houses experimental setups for Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces (RIS) and Optical Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces (ORIS), enabling investigations into intelligent signal reflection, beam steering, and communication in non-line-of-sight environments. The facility also includes Device-to-Device (D2D) communication testbeds that allow the study of direct wireless links, cooperative communication, and low-latency networking. High-performance desktop workstations and embedded platforms are available to support real-time signal processing, prototyping, and system-level experimentation. Collectively, the infrastructure provides a practical environment for students and researchers to develop and validate emerging communication technologies, including RIS-assisted wireless systems, optical wireless communication, and IoT-based applications. All the hardware testbeds are supported by Shannon lab.
